FyreStrip is an efficient and quick method for sealing large high movement joints in walls or floors. It is compressible, flexible and provides a fire resistant seal which is ideal for use where movement joints are formed in the structure of a building. FyreStrip consists of layers of intumescent material bonded to special foam. It has been successfully fire tested up to 4 hours in joints within masonry walls and floors. FireStrip is ideal for sealing movement joints at junctions between compartment walls and floors. Its flexibility makes it suitable for use in a variety of configurations. Installation involves simply compressing one end between the thumb and fingers until it can be inserted into the required gap. It can then be progressively pushed into the gap, or if difficult, can be knocked into place with a hammer handle, rubber mallet or by placing a piece of timber along the length and knocking the timber.
