FRS is proud to be working on the new Arden, Parkville and Domain Stations, part of the new Metro Tunnel Project being built by the CYP consortium for the Victorian Government.
We have recently completed a number of comprehensive sample fire penetration walls which will be a valuable visual resource for this project’s expert consultants, building surveyor and trades. Importantly these sample walls will also assist in ensuring ongoing compliance for passive fire penetrations on the project.
This landmark infrastructure project draws on FRS’s expertise in large-scale and complex fire rating projects. We are delighted to be working alongside our colleagues at Stowe Electrical, D&E Air Conditioning, Axis Plumbing and ELMJV (Entire Fire & Leemark Joint Venture) utilising a range of industry leading products from Promat and Boss Fire helping us to deliver quality solutions.
This project is being delivered by CYP, a consortium bringing together three of Australia’s leading construction partners, John Holland Pty Ltd, Lendlease Engineering Pty Ltd and Bouygues Construction Pty Ltd. Together they have the world’s best experience in tunnelling and engineering. They are also working with leading Australian experts who have proven experience in local ground conditions of complex Australian rail projects.
The station will include a café with terraces for outdoor dining. Public seating, garden beds and lawn areas will provide a new gathering place for locals and passengers to enjoy. Arden Station will be within walking distance of the North Melbourne Recreation Centre, Arden Street Oval and the existing route 57 tram, providing the opportunity to create a truly sustainable transport precinct.
The Metro Tunnel Project (Tunnels and Stations Public Private Partnership) is an $11 billion dollar, multi-disciplinary, city shaping project that will help define the future of Melbourne. This project includes the construction of twin 9km rail tunnels from Kensington to South Yarra as part of a new end to end Sunshine to Dandenong line and new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, CBD North (with a direct pedestrian connection with Melbourne Central station), CBD South (with a direct pedestrian connection with Flinders Street Station) and Domain. Additionally, the new Arden station in North Melbourne will have a direct link to Melbourne Airport in 2029 via Melbourne Airport Rail.
This is an amazing project and FRS is excited to be involved is one of such significance to the people of Melbourne.
