Structural steel protection project for significant 18 level lift shaft under tight time frames and with a quality result.
Project Name: 55 Southbank Boulevard
Location: 55 Southbank Boulevard, Melbourne
Client Builder: Atelier Projects Pty Ltd
Work type: Structural Steel Protection
Period: July 2020
This project involved the design and installation of a complex fire protection system for a massive 18 level lift shaft.
Not only a complex job in a difficult work environment, this project was needing to be completed under tight time frames. With quality, precision and speed essential for this challenging project, the FRS team worked day and night to achieve the required timeframe for our client, Atelier Projects.
The end result was not only impressive but almost beautiful in its design. Using Promatec P250 we clad the angled structural steel beams up the entire 18 levels of the lift shaft and applied Cafco 300 Vermiculite fire spray to complete the fire rated system and ensure it was completely up to code
